THE NECKLACE

Madame Mathilde Loisel is born into a lower-middle-class family and dreams a luxurious life. She marries a low-paid clerk who tries his best to make her happy but has little to give. A day her husband receives an invitation for the both of them to the Ministry of Education party but Mathilde refuses to go because she has nothing to wear. Her husband gives her all the money that he was saving to buy a hunting rifle to purchase a new dress but she is not happy because she wants a jewel to wear. Her husband suggests borrowing something from her rich friend, Madame Jeanne Forestier. Mathilde goes to her and chooses a diamond necklace. After attending the party, Mathilde discovers that she has lost the necklace and tries to find it. She goes to a jewelry store and finds a very similar necklace but it costs 40 000 francs. The couple sells everything they own and must secure loans at high interest rates to pay for the necklace. Ten years later Mathilde meets Madame Forestier and tells her the story to buy a new necklace but Madame Forestier explains that her necklace was fake.

BODY LANGUAGE HAND GESTURES

  • HANDS CLASPED: may mean two things: it may mean that a person using it to assume a strong position; it may mean confidence or even nervousness.
  • TWO HANDED: in India it is a sign of respect and among yoga practitioners and it is made by pressing the palms together and it is called "namaste"; in Japanese culture it is a gesture made by crossing one's hands in the shape of an X in front of them in order to indicate that something is wrong or no good.
  • APPLAUSE: is an expression of approval made by chapping the hands together to create a repetitive noise.
  • HAND HEART: is a recent pop culture symbol meaning love because the hands form the shape of the heart.
  • CLENCHED FISTS: usually connote firmness of resolve, instead clenched fists with thumbs tucked indicate discomfort.


BODY LANGUAGE IN A RELATIONSHIP 


  • When a man kisses you on the forehead, it could mean he cares for you but only as a friend.
  • If he intentionally mirrors your movements, this indicates he is a playful type and likes to make you laugh and smile.
  • If he gives you a soft kiss before he leaves, he is a sensitive man and he cares deeply for you.

Diana, known as Lady Diana or Lady D, was born in 1961 in Sandringham. She was a member of the British royal family and Princess of Wales. Her father was Edward Spencer, a descendant of Charles II and her mother was Frances Ruth.When Diana was young, her parents divorced and she grew up in the family home of Park House. Diana did not shine as a student, but did well in music and ballet. When she met Charles, Diana was working as a part time assistant in a nursery school in London. In 1981 Diana married Prince Charles: she was 13 and he was 33 years. During their marriage they had two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. In 1992 the marriage broke up and Diana suffered various health problems such as depression. Princess Diana met with Mother Teresa, which said “Diana is my daughter". She represents feminine beauty and glamour. At the same time, she was admired for her charity work, in particular with AIDS patients and supporting the campaign for banning landmines. During her life she was often said to be the most photographed person in the world, appearing on the cover of People magazine more than anyone else. Diana remained very popular because people could identify with her because she gave the impression of a new type of Royal. In 1997 Diana died in a car accident, perhaps chased by paparazzi and the driver was also under the influence of drugs. The death of Diana had a profound impact on the British public. One of her important quote is “Everyone needs to be valued. Everyone has the potential to give something back if only they had the chance”.
