The name originates in the Latin form and Sabine Claudius, meaning 'lame'. Claudia is celebrated on twentieth in honor of St. Claudia, the holy martyr with Euphrasia, Juliana, Theodosia to Amiso in Paphlagonia in the fourth century. Claudio instead is celebrated February 18 in honor of Claudius, a martyr in Ostia, together with his brother Max and Asterius, during the reign Diocletian.
